Firearms training division

Our experienced and certified Maryland Firearms Instructors bring years of experience to our students, in order for them to SAFELY and CONFIDENTLY learn everything they need to know to be a responsible firearms owner and user. 

We teach everything from basic familiarization courses to your MD Wear and Carry (CCW) Course.   We also teach NRA Basic Pistol, and more NRA Classes to come soon!

We will keep our students updated on any and all changes to MD gun laws effecting Wear and Carry permits and Changes to where you can and cant carry!

The Firearms Safety Training Course must be instructed by a Qualified Handgun Instructor, and shall consist of a minimum of 4 hours of instruction and include the following minimum curricula:

1. State Firearm Law.
2. Home Firearm Safety.
3. Handgun Mechanisms and Operation. 
4. Operation and Handling Demonstration. 

Wear and Carry Permit training is 16 hours of instruction for an original application and 8 hours of instruction for a renewal application. The approved training is offered by a Qualified Handgun Instructor and will include instruction on state firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy.

Designated security personnel (security guards, private detectives, special police, and armored car drivers/guards) must shoot a practical police course of at least 50 rounds, from no further than 25 yards and score at least 70% accuracy.

All other applicants must shoot a course of at least 25 rounds, from no further than 15 yards and score at least 70% accuracy.

We will teach the students the following information:

Basic nomenclature and identification of firearm types and assemblies will be discussed and demonstrated. 

• General firearms types and their safe handling will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced.
• Safe firearm handling, loading and unloading (utilizing inert "dummy" rounds) and basic safety rules will be discussed,   demonstrated and  practiced. 
• This is a good hands on safe learning environment.
• Students will be able to handle our Blue Rubber training weapons and a few of our safe training platforms

We will teach our students the basics of cleaning a firearm properly.  Students can bring in their own firearms (Unloaded and no ammunition) to learn how to clean their firearm personally.
